Without doubt one of the biggest blogger trends this spring/summer has been the basket bag. The weaved wonder saw a revival this year with the likes of Tory Burch and Michael Kors showcasing them on the runway, drawing inspiration from Jane Birkin who sported them throughout the 70s. This style of bag has been on sites like Etsy for ages but now high street stores are now starting to buy into the trend and I’ve seen a fair few now stocking different versions of it. Personally, I’m a bit late to the party and haven’t got my hands on one yet but I can’t see them going anywhere in a hurry so I’ve selected a few of my favourites to show you.
M&S has massively upped it’s fashion game over the last few years and I’m especially loving their accessories lately. This black shopper puts a chic twist on the conventional straw bag and is the perfect holiday companion.
Quite literally a bargain bucket (minus the chicken), this cute little topshop sack is perfect for slinging all your essentials into before roaming around the city on a day trip. Also, how adorable are the pom poms on the front?
A South Korean work of art, this hoop handle hun is sure to transport your stuff in style. It looks fairly hard wearing whilst maintaining a quintessential feminine charm and contains an inner pouch bag to keep all your bits and pieces safe- perfect!
As an avid backpack wearer, I was excited to stumble upon this beauty. I like the unique design and can’t say I’ve seen anyone wearing one in real life yet. It also has adjustable leather straps which is ideal for those of us with a smaller frame who might otherwise struggle to pull it off.
Wood Grey, a welsh online lifestyle store, stocks some of the most beautiful basket bags I’ve seen (and I’ve done a lot of research). The site claim that New York city is a key influence in the aesthetic of their products which I can definitely get on board with. Though the bags are on the pricier side, the quality and craftsmanship that goes into creating them is strikingly apparent. I love this round option with the flower pattern woven onto the front.
