I recently spent the weekend in Edinburgh for the Fringe Festival and absolutely loved it. If you haven’t been before it’s essentially a month long comedy extravaganza across the city full of street performers, food stalls and stand up comics. I also saw a couple of plays and sketch shows while I was there, not to mention an interactive audience participation show which was terrifying for an introvert like myself, but lots of fun nonetheless. Suffice to say, the Fringe definitely offers something for everyone! I think my favourite act was probably stand up comedian Tom Ward, whose weirdness was hilariously endearing (you can find him on YouTube).
Outfit wise I opted for a yellow floral kimono from New Look (core range) on day one which isn’t something I’d normally go for, particularly with it being so bright, but when I saw it in store I was strangely drawn to it. The jeans are an old Urban Outfitters buy and my dangly blue earrings are from Topshop.
We stayed in an Air BnB while we were there, about a 20 minute walk away from the centre of town which was perfect. The weather could’ve been better but I think Edinburgh is so picturesque that a grey sky actually makes it even more atmospheric. The gothic architecture creates a stunning backdrop for the festival and I can’t wait to go back for another long weekend next year.
On day two we popped to the castle in between shows and it didn’t disappoint (massive queue though!) I matched my clothes to the murky tones of the sky that day. The gingham trousers (petite), navy jumper and corduroy baker boy hat are all courtesy of Topshop and the white tee is from an online boutique I found on instagram called Kozy.
Until next time Edinburgh!
