When she isn’t reporting from perilous war zones, fighting for women’s rights or exposing exploitation, investigative journalist Stacey Dooley can often be found gracing the fashion pages of our favourite women’s weeklies. The Luton native clearly has an eye for style, always nailing the casual chic look- just take a look at her Insta grid.
First of all, can we just take a second to appreciate those glorious ginger locks?! The shade compliments her high waisted olive green skirt a treat. Also a big fan of the footwear, it brings a relaxed feel to the whole look and the ankle cleavage adds the illusion of extra height.
This boss lady is absolutely killing it here with her pointed mules and 3/4 length denim cut offs. She gets a bonus point for the v-neck shape of the blouse which tricks the eye, elongating that torso no end.
When it comes to a loose-fitting ensemble, Stacey knows how to work it. She’s no stranger to an unstructured linen co-ord and these cream wide leg trousers are just dreamy. Many petites avoid wearing anything unfitted as they presume they’ll drown in material but, take note: the three quarter length sleeves on Stacey’s top half prevent the outfit from dwarfing her frame- genius!
It’s not all about neutrals and androgyny though; Miss Dooley has been seen sporting prints before too, and unsurprisingly still looks fab. Here, the drawn in waist helps balance her proportions, defining her silhouette perfectly.
Ultimate goals. Again, when it comes to petite dressing, she’s got it sussed. The high waisted pants and v neck crop lengthen her body from top and bottom.
And did I mention the gold hoops yet? Another Stacey staple that oozes cool.
Another iconic look. I love her fearless approach when it comes to trying a new trend. She’s clearly not afraid to take risks, and they always seem to pay off.
Thanks for being such an inspiration Stacey. A role model to all young women and proof that you don’t have to tone down your style in order to be taken seriously as an intelligent woman.
