Fashion Week Trends Round-Up
The autumn/winter 2023 ready-to-wear season has finally wrapped, with hundreds of shows taking place in New York, London, Milan and Paris. Now that I have enjoyed some catwalk drama, I am ready to see the runway trends trickle down into our wardrobes!
This week, I have rounded up some of my favourite trends to come out of the Fashion Week catwalk debuts and street styles, all around the globe. From fun ribbons, hearts and bows to shrug jackets, diy-looking fishnet mesh and big belt accessories, I am so ready to see these dominate our Instagram feeds six months from now (or even sooner).
Trend Spotlight: Blazers
‘Business casual’ is definitely one of the biggest running themes for this fashion season: I have seen it on catwalks and on celebrities alike. Tailoring is becoming more and more popular during the warmer months thanks to the industry leaning into softer, slouchier shapes. While for SS23 things are getting very hot-weather friendly, with soft pastel shades and sheer fabrics dominating the suiting landscape, the AW23 seems to be all about pastel blues, greens and greys.
This season, designers have tapped into the desire to look professional, with many building their collections upon tailoring and the foundations of office wear, but much more elevated. Blazers with intricate clasps, suiting with spliced hems, and cinched waists are just some of the outfits we'd like to buy for our Monday to Friday!
From Chloe Sevigny stepping out of Proenza Schouler’s Fall 2023 runway show in a cinched waist blazer, to Naomi Campbell and Jodie Comer attending the Burberry Fall 2023 show in classic grey and black blazers, it looks like this piece is never off the trends’ table.
